Vintage 1950-1952 KG9 Mercury Outboard Lower Unit

  

Here we have a Mercury KG9 lower unit. No signs of water intrusion or metal.

However it is old oil and is dirty. We don't know when the water pump was last replaced. Due to age we recommend replacing the impeller and installing a seal kit before being put back into service.

There are no cracks, breaks or welds in the gear case. The drive shaft has eleven splines. Splines are in good shape.
