For Parts Repair Toy Outboard Battery Op Boat Motor Metal 5 Made in Japan Vtg. NOTE one of the two screw flanges for the cover is missing (broken off, see photos, you can see what it looks like on the other side). Measures just under 5 tall.

I tried a battery but couldn't get it to run. Turning the prop a few times will make the motor armature spin briefly (to me indicates a spring type belt or drive system). This is without a battery, turning the prop is loading some kind of spring which then willl spin the armature a few times (so the drive linkage is probably ok at least). The internal contacts for the armature are present (the red wire is connected to a bushing and the black wire is simply bent to touch the other side of the armature). NOTE the oxidation under the paint in the lower area. No brand or maker mark other than JAPAN under the mount screws. Lots of paint loss to the red aluminum stamped housing halves, some denting also.
